You know, we have an opportunity to do things outside of the scope of just covering ball games and reporting on what athletes say or what the score of a game

was. And certainly that's a gigantic part of sports reporting and coverage, but shows like we're

going to do today are just as important because of the historical thing of it, the historical

aspect of sports. And so I want to introduce Ron Smith. And for folks that

are familiar with Next Level, about two years ago, Greg and I sat down with Ron and went over

the Tar Hill book, Volume 1, a comprehensive historical, just a massive project Ron that you put

together first of all welcome to the show I don't know if we can talk to somebody

that has more detailed knowledge of North Carolina history in North

Carolina basketball history so thank you for joining us well thank you me, first of all. I love talking to you guys. I love talking about

this project. And it started, I've mentioned before, it started in 2005 when my late wife was doing cancer treatment at Duke.

And I went to the library at Duke, of all places, to just start looking up basketball

articles just to get my mind off of her situation and kind of escape into something else.
