Hey, Prestige, it's Derek, and I am here to let you guys know, if you haven't already heard, that friend of the show, Spencer Ackerman, we've had him on several times, and as you may know, he is writing the current run of Iron Man for Marvel Comics.

We had him on the show to talk about that, actually, a while back. The first volume of his run

has been compiled. It is now available for purchase in paperback, all the issues of the first volume,

which is called the Stark Rocks on War. Spencer has been doing a bang-up job. I've been reading the comics.

I haven't read comics since God, it's been a long time. Let's just leave it at that. But I've been loving the work he's doing on this.

He is really doing a great job.

And as he said when he was on here, but I'll say it again,

if you're a fan of Spencer's work or if you're a fan of this show,

then you are going to love some of the themes that he touches on here,

blowback, corporate domination, global arms markets, surveillance, capitalism, mass incarceration.

It touches on a lot of things that I know people really care about.

And it does a fantastic job, as I said.

regarding a 24 global military spending yeah I'm I was surprised to learn it had gone

up go figure I didn't I didn't realize I would have guessed that what are the

odds on it going down like in Vegas like people bet on everything now. Yeah, you could probably make book on that. Like a billion to one?

It never actually declines. Somebody's going to win big on that bet. Everyone, someone's contact Fandoul.

The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, which is the main organization that does this sort of thing,

tracks military spending around the world, released its report on 2024 on Monday.

And yeah, it turns out that we spent, we meaning humanity, spent a lot more on the military matters in 2024 than we did in
