One item that's sure to be debated in the Senate is the House bill's $700 billion in savings in Medicaid, the nation's biggest health insurance program.

Well, as the Senate considers the budget bill, a new map from USA Today shows it could severely

impact the poorest Americans.

People are not alive.

Well, we all are going to die.

Iowa, U.S. Senator Joni Ernst's comments surrounding her support of Medicaid cuts during a town

hall on Friday are going viral.

Tonight, Ernst doubling down on those remarks.

Hi, everybody. We have a lot to get through. So we're going to jump right in. Memorial Day has passed us and I can't believe it's June already. It's going to be Christmas before you know it. My son, he's an eighth grader. I don't know where the time is going. You just gave birth to him 15 minutes ago. That's what it feels like. I really need to get rid of that 15 pounds of baby weight because now I really have no excuse. I'm on vacation with my daughter who is 23 and I'm still like, oh, you have to put on sunscreen, kiddo. And yeah, she's probably had it with me now.

Well, Memorial Day has passed, right?

And we are just barreling into the summer.

And so much has been happening over the past month.

And obviously, so much is going to happen in the near future because there's never a dull moment.

So this week, Ben and I are going to round up some of the big

stories in the news and think about what it might mean for all of us. And this episode also,

I feel like when we do these men, that the episode is also about connecting the dots. Yes.

Because I think it's so easy to look at all these stories as like separate entities, but they

aren't just headlines.
