Welcome to the Conversations That Matter podcast. I'm your host, John Harris. I hope you're all doing well and preparing for a wonderful celebration this weekend. It will be the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. What a momentous occasion. And I'm celebrating the way I celebrate every year by smoking a whole bunch of meat and having

family over and a few friends over and we're going to go watch fireworks.

I think it's going to be extra special this year.

One of the things that I'm doing that is extra special, and this is something that you are

also going to be part of, at least if you like country music, if you don't just skip ahead, skip like two minutes

ahead. I love country music. I put out, I am putting out. I should say I got the text right before I

started the podcast that all the tracks are done. They're ready. The album is is there. It's going to be called Heritage.

And I'm going to actually work tonight on getting it on iTunes and Spotify and all the places that you listen and stream music should be there in the next two or three days.

Because it takes a few days usually to process.

But once that happens, you're going to see a lot of content coming out for me related to that, especially on my other channel. Some of you don't know I have another channel. I actually have another channel on YouTube. I have another Facebook channel as well where it's just my music stuff. And that's, if you want to find both of those, you can go to john Harris tunes.com. But I'm actually really proud of this. I was listening to some of the songs and I thought, I can be a hard critic on myself. These are good songs. Some of them, I think they're all good songs, but some of them are really good to the point that, and it's not, I can't take all the credit for it. Tim Bouchong did a fantastic job, my brother. We had a couple

other instrumentalists come in. So this was a group effort. But it's going to be something that

I'm going to put out on the 4th of July. That's when it's going to be released. It'll be up

there to purchase, but it'll be released on the 4th. And it's special because of that. It's going to be mostly about the United States of America, what it means to be an American, the heritage that we share in this country. Yes, there's Christian themes throughout. So I think, even if you don't like country music, I know I said for those who don't like country music, just turn it off.

But I think a few of you should give it a chance.

Even if you don't like it, give it a chance. And if you know anyone in Nashville, who's a big recording artist, who just wants some good songs, feel free to send them my way. That's kind of my goal. I look at, not that I'm trying hard, but I look at what I'm doing is something

that could help someone else if they really like the music and the message and can really,

with their career, wherever they built it to, they can get behind it and use it for themselves.

I really don't care who takes credit for the song.

I just, um, I, the songs mean a lot to me. So you're going to hear a different side of me, some heartfelt stuff, some stuff that maybe will bring a tear to your eye and some pride coming up your spine because we live in the greatest country in the world. And I truly believe that. I don't know that maybe it's boomer

coded now or something, but I don't take it for granted that I was born into this country,

the United States of America, and no country's perfect. But we enjoy so much freedom here. I know

that sounds cliche, but we really do. We can worship God freely. We can say pretty much
