On today's wrestling news, is Danhausen in the box?

But let's get right into it, because is Dan Housen in the box on WW? There's been some heavy, heavy, heavy hints that Dan Housen has been dropping, that he is out of contract with AEW. Now, he has put up a picture of the genie from Aladdin, broke some of breaking free and finally getting with freedom at the end of the movie.

He's posted a song that's called Freedom Slam by the band Freedom.

And now on top of those not so subtle hints,

he has also been removed from the AEW roster page on their website.

So he is also the current betting favourite for what's in the box on

WW TV, obviously the big crate that is due to be opened at Elimination Chamber tonight.

Now, Danhausen requested his release from AW back in August last year, but they extended his

contract due to injury time that he had off. But he hasn't actually been used in a match on AWTV since December 2023, which was at World's End.

And he has been used on Ring of Honor, but only on like a Ring of Honor on a Club online stream thing in February, 2024.

So it's been a long-ass time since they've used him really. So he's been

fighting for this release for a long time. Obviously something fell through in AEW where the

relationship kind of stumbled and they weren't getting along or weren't being used. So it's interesting

to see what happens next. Now this doesn't mean obviously that he is the person in the box. It

just means that should WWE want to use him, he is now 100% out of contract and available. So it could

just be that he is just very excited about finally getting his freedom from his AW contract,

and he can now go and do whatever it is that he wants to go and do. Or it could be that he's the guy in the box and we're going to find out tonight at Elimination Chamber.

Now Meltzer has not really an update, but a speculation on all of this that he put in the Wrestling Observer newsletter yesterday.

He just said that he's absolutely not the kind of wrestler that Paul Lebeck would want as a top star,

but he can be a comedy character, could get over as a cult figure early,

and would likely sell a lot of merchandise. I expect a discussion regarding him and that in the

end they will give him a try. So Meltzer is expecting him to go over to WWE. I can 100% see him
