Fed rate cut decision well they cut by 25 basis points, 50 basis points, could they even cut to 75?

Let's go right into a story from Barons, arguing why maybe it's going to be a 25 basis point cut but then we're going to

look at some charts we're going to look at history we're going to try to

connect some dots to determine the probabilities of 2550 or like I said potentially even 75.

So first and foremost, this Barron's article,

and if you guys didn't hear, retail sales today came out hotter than expected. Maybe 25 basis point cut. Check this

out. Spending rows at a faster clip than expected in August as American consumers once again proved their hardiness

against softening economic data. Retail sales increased so you're thinking based on the title

and this first paragraph, retail sales

was just absolutely blown out.

And then you look at it and you're like,

retail sales increased by 0.1% in August from July,

according to the data released Tuesday by the Census Bureau.

Economists polled by FACET had expected a 0.2% decrease.

So they're expecting a, well, I don't want to use word collapse, but they're expecting a horrific

number and then they get a bad number.

It's like, oh my gosh, look at how resilient the consumer is.

That is great. Oh, but wait, there is more. It gets even more insane as you go down and check this out on an annual basis

they say sales rose by 2.1%.
