It's time for the latest in National Park news. Welcome to the

America's National Parks Podcast. I'm Jason Epperson and each month we set aside

one episode to share with you the latest news and happenings in our nation's treasures.

We begin at Zion National Park where a flash flood on the Virgin River ripped through the

main canyon as it does from time to time, dumping boulders and debris in the middle of roadways and tearing apart pavement.

More than a foot of mud was covering the road into the park through the town of Springdale.

And Rangers in the park's new entrance station building said muddy water was coming in under the doors.

The park received little over an inch of rain in an hour and closed temporarily.

In 2015, 7 died in a flash flood at Zion.

Thankfully, this time, no injuries were reported.
