Hey y'all, it's Monica, and I don't have time to do a full newsreel today. It's the holiday season,

and my kids are home and I've got a lot of preparations to do.

But something came across the wire and I feel like it's being totally undercover and I don't

want you to miss it because I think it's really important. It's Assad's Bashar Assad, the fallen

president of Syria.

His first statement since the fall of Damascus, since he had to leave.

And I was not even sure he would be allowed to make a statement.

He's being given refuge in Moscow or in Russia.

And for geopolitical reasons, I just didn't know if they'd let him say something.

And it's my opinion that what he's saying really checks out. It really checks out. So I'm going to

read it to you. I'll tell you what I think about it along the way. And I'm going to do some book readings over the break and some interviews.

I'll do my year-end show with Noble.

But I'm probably not going to do any more full newsreel.

So maybe I'll pop in with a news flash like this one once a while.
