0:06.7	First up, Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum has announced a $3.5 million settlement with
0:13.3	dealership giant camping world, resulting from a multi-year consumer protection investigation by the Oregon
0:19.8	Department of Justice.
0:21.0	The investigation found that Camping World would advertise a heavily discounted, quote,
0:25.9	dare to compare price. During negotiations, Camping World would then charge consumers for freight
0:32.1	and prep charges that had been listed as included in the advertised price.
0:37.8	Under the terms of the agreement,
0:39.3	3 million will be used to refund certain consumers that purchased an RV
0:43.3	from Camping World between January 1st, 2017 and December 31st, 2018,
0:48.7	and who paid more than the advertised price for the vehicle.
0:52.1	Consumers who purchased a vehicle after December 31st,
0:55.0	2018 may also be eligible if they submit a written complaint to the Oregon Department of Justice
1:00.6	within the next six months. Obviously, that's been seven years now. So there's been a lot of
1:06.5	customers since then. Under the settlement, Camping World cannot charge any consumer more than the advertised
1:12.5	offering price of the vehicle, excluding optional goods or accessories, license and registration
1:18.2	fees, or other taxes. The offering price must be available to all consumers. It cannot be
1:24.6	contingent on whether consumers paying cash or financing the deal.
1:28.4	If something is required to be paid, it has to be put on the price sticker, just like when
1:33.0	you buy a car.
1:34.2	The RV industry isn't subject to the consumer protection laws that require automobile
1:38.7	manufacturers to have detailed window stickers.
