So this week we are doing an extended news brief for our listeners.

It's going to be an interview with author, historian, political analyst, journalist, Thomas

Frank, who has written books like What's the Matter with Kansas and Listen Liberal.

And we really wanted to talk to him about what we're seeing now that the presidential

election is in full swing, this question of vetting.

There is an instinct to say don't relitigate 2016, but we're going to lean into that

extremely hard without shame or apology.

And we're going to litigate the shit out of it.

Because I do think it's relevant.

And I do think that anytime someone tells you not to relitigate something, it's usually

a way of saying that the narrative that currently exists is working in our favor.

Don't go back and criticize it.

One of the tropes that's emerged over the past few weeks is the idea that Sanders has

not been vetted.

And we promise we will not turn the show into a knee-jerk Bernie Bro Apologia.

But this is horse shit, something that even I've been talking about and tweeting about.

And we thought we would get someone on the show in Thomas Frank who actually did the most

robust study of the bias against Sanders, specifically in the Washington Post for roughly

six month period in early 2016 during the primaries.
