Today in the NFL, the Colts trade Carson Wentz to the Washington commanders for two third-round picks.

0:34.8

One of those picks could become a second if he plays 75% of the snaps. The commanders will assume Carson Wentz full salary coming up this season, which amounts to $28 million. Maz, your thoughts. So I think Indianapolis did well on this. Wentz sucked. He was horrible. God, was he bad in that game against the Patriots. And so I liked Wentz early in his career. He's not the same player anymore. I don't know what the hell happened there, but he's not the same guy. And, you know, he's not this bad or he shouldn't be this bad. I'm not telling he's an MVP either. Like he wasn't Philly or a candidate for it before he get hurt. But Indy, to come out of it with two third round picks, potentially one of them being a second and dumping the money, I thought they were going to have to give up picks to move them, a la Brock Osweiler.

1:17.4

Like I thought it was going to be that kind of thing.

1:19.3

Or Jared Goff.

1:20.5

Yes, I thought absolutely they were looking at that kind of deal.

1:23.7

To get a couple of third rounders back, they did okay.

1:27.4

And, you know, there were already people speculating They're going to be in on Jimmy Garoppolo. And so Garoppolo and Reich together, I'm interested in that. I think he is this bad. It turns out that not even Frank Reich could resuscitate his career and they cut a bait with him a year just after one year. And I don't blame him now he's washington's problem this is what i nailed i thought the colts gave up too much for him last year but nope they were convinced they could fix him so it's kind of the same deal so i'm with mass like good on them for getting this kind of return because i think this guy's sam bradford all over again a high pick who's never going to reach expectations He'll bounce around the league until he's burned too many teams.

2:01.4

The guy sucks.

2:02.2

Oh, he looks so bad last year.

2:03.6

Oh, he's brutal.

2:05.3

And I think the Colts crushed this.

2:08.2

I think you're absolutely right to say they did well.

2:10.4

They did more than well.

2:12.0

I'm stunned that they got anything back.

2:15.0

As you said, you know, it's just another lesson that no contract is unmovable and no, there's no, it's very rare that you're stuck, stuck with the player. It's like, here's another example of it, folks. People thought the Eagles were stuck with Carson Wentz. They weren't. Then you thought the Colts were stuck with Carson Wentz because of the contract and the guarantee and the salary cap.
