Welcome to Up Front. I'm Clay Morgan. And I'm Rachel O'Sullivan. The WSL took a break this weekend as the domestic cups took centre stage. We kick off with some of our highlights and then react to some big manager drama down in WSL2 as Tanya Oxaby has left Northern Ireland to take the reins at Newcastle United Lakeman.

0:25.2

After that, very excitingly, Rachel will be interviewing the athletics, Asley Pellit,

0:30.1

who will be telling us all about the NWSL championship final between Gotham FC and Washington's Spirit. Plus, we look ahead at how the lionesses will be seeing out what has been another

0:34.2

historic year for English football.

0:44.1

Before we get started, a reminder of our very special competition right now, we are giving away a framed England shirt signed by Lucy Bronze. That's right, an England shirt

0:48.8

with Lucy Bronze's actual signature and it could be yours. All you have to do is click the link

0:53.9

in the show notes and complete our short survey. All you have to do is click the link in the show notes

0:54.6

and complete a short survey. It's a really simple questionnaire about your listening habits and it

0:59.0

will take you no time at all to complete. Once you've submitted it, you will be automatically

entered into the prize part. So go ahead, click the link in the show notes and put your name in that

hat. Rach, you're not allowed. I asked and they said, they said I could. No, you can't. Sorry. I'm not sorry actually. You can't do it. It's obviously been a lovely welcome break in the WSL. I feel like for the past few weeks, we've talked about non-stop drama and it's kind of come to the FAA Cup fixtures, which have also provided some drama, but it does feel like a slightly subdued weekend. Yeah, can you let us know what your moment of the

1:32.5

weekend is? Yes, I can. I have gone for Dartford FC women beating Keynesham Town,

1:40.1

2-1 in the FA Cup. History was made, and apparently history was made twice at Princess Park because I think they got like their record crowd and I've gotten the furthest, they've gotten in the competition as well and friend of the pod Lizzie Adams who works at the Premier League also plays with them so I thought I gave them a shout out. Good on Lizzie Adams. One for the team. Come on.

2:02.4

And you might have noticed that Rachel's voice is, it's got like a weird kind of sexy husk on it,

2:08.3

really. Yeah, it's trying out something new for the next couple of months.

2:12.2

Thoughts?

2:13.9

My moment of the weekend has got to be Hannah Bodley from Royston FC. They paid Bridgewater. She scored a 98th minute equalizer to take the game to penalties. And then they won on penalties and made history by getting into the next round. So massive, massive congratulations to Royston there. Unbelievable. I always love it when teams kind of make history and get further than they did the previous years. It just shows the progress, isn't it? Of like, yeah, like where these teams are going

2:37.6

into and these like big ambitions and hopefully we'll see one of these teams take on, you know,

2:41.9

a Chelsea and Arsenal or a Man City or United in the, in the FA Cup final. Where do things

2:45.9

have happened? I still think back to that match between, no, between Lewis and Manchester United and Lewis

2:52.5

hosted Manchester United. Yes. And I remember because I was on floor manager duties for that one.

2:58.3

And it was a little bit of a bigger day, which I hadn't realized, because it was on the BBC
