We are here to break down an absolutely heartbreaking loss for the New York Jets in week three action.

They fall 29 to 27 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a last second field goal. And I guess I'm

supposed to begin the show by praising the Jets and saying, well, they showed a lot of heart coming

back from 20 down into the fourth quarter, and at least they didn't quit. But I have to be

honest with you. I don't leave this game with many positive thoughts about this team.

If the Jets had held on, this game would have lived on in franchise lore.

Maybe not on the level of the Monday Night Miracle in 2000 when the Jets rallied from 30 to 7 down,

but it would have been on the level of a game from earlier that season.

A game the Jets and the Buccaneers played at this very stadium 25 years ago,

when the Jets rallied from 11 points down late in the fourth quarter, the flashlight game, Curtis Martin throws a halfback option to wane for bet to win the game. It would have gone down

like the week two game against the Cleveland Browns three years ago when the Jets scored two

touchdowns in the last two minutes to win.

It had that kind of feel.

It was an opportunity for the Jets to steal a game.

They really had no business winning because the Jets were outplayed thoroughly through most of this game.

I would have felt okay about a loss that the Jets had gone into Tampa Bay and given the Bucks all they could handle.

If the Jets played a clean game, if they played smart football, if they weren't missing tackles, if they weren't committing penalties, if they were, you know, if they just lost because the Bucs were better.

It felt like the Bucs jumped out to a big lead in this game because the J were just really bad because the jets constantly made self-inflicted errors and even though the bucks were not

playing well the jets were just worse and then you get to the fourth quarter and the bucks kind

to take their foot off the gas they start playing pre-vents and the checkdowns that were not very
