It doesn't seem that likely that the Jets are going to trade up to get one of the top

quarterback prospects in the 2025 NFL draft.

Still occasionally you hear a rumor about the potential for it to happen.

It's probably a bad idea, and I'll explain why today on Locked On Jets.

On today's show, we're going to talk about the potential for the Jets to draft a quarterback or even trade up for a quarterback in the 2025 NFL draft. Now, to be fair, it doesn't seem super likely at this point in time. The Jets general manager and Jets head coach, Darren Mugi and Aaron Glenn respectively told you this week that the team

likes Justin Fields. They think he's got a lot of upside and he has been penciled in as the starting

quarterback. That said, you can never rule out the potential for a team to a team in need of a long-term

quarterback to make a move, especially when it has a top 10 pick.

So we're going to examine three possibilities the Jets have.

And while these are not likely possibilities, these would be such big moves that I think we would be remiss without at least exploring

them on the podcast before the 2025 NFL draft.

And the most likely way the Jets could land one of the top prospects would be a trade-up.

And while there has not been that much buzz about it, occasionally we've heard a rumor to that the Jets really like one of the top two

quarterback prospects, Cam Ward and Shador Sanders.

And to get one of the two, most likely it would seem that the Jets would probably have to

trade up for them.

And this would be probably my least favorite idea for the Jets because I think most likely the Jets would need to move into one of the top three picks.

And so I did a little research.

And I looked at every time a team has traded up into the top three to draft a quarterback since the rookie wage scale came into effect in 2012.

Or it was 2011, I guess, but it was after the 2011 NFL draft. So it was really the 2012 NFL draft was the first one with the rookie wage
