Well, we were supposed to continue our all-Jets quarter century team today. We started that yesterday.

But the Jets had different plans. They made a big move on Tuesday. Reports broke in the afternoon that the Jets have agreed to a long-term contract extension with Garrett Wilson. We're going to talk all about Garrett Wilson's contract today. We're going to talk about why the Jets may not be finished giving big contracts to star players. I'm going to rebut the arguments people are making against this contract extension because I think it's a great move.

And let me start by telling you why I think it's a great move.

You know, for years, I've observed the NFL.

And because the Jets have been so unsuccessful, one of the things I've really tried to look into are the way the great franchises function in this league, the way the teams that are always at the top of the league operate.

And one thing has become crystal clear to me. The Jets frequently do the opposite of what these teams do.

The Jets operate in the exact opposite way of the most consistently good franchises in this league.

And it seems to be over and over, the Jets take the worst practices of the league as they build their roster and act shocked when the results aren't good.

If you ever listen to Woody Johnson after a season, he is just completely floored that all of these moves that are the

opposite of the way Kansas City and Baltimore and Philadelphia operate. He's surprised that

memory, the Jets have made a move that resembles the way the great franchises operate in this league.
