The Jets have not added many big names in free agency so far this year, and you can feel

it.

The fan base is starting to get apprehensive.

But all is not lost, and 2025 does not necessarily need to be a tank year where the Jets

end up with the top five pick.

Let's try and make sense of what's happening.

Now, they've signed a number of players, but we haven't seen a lot of big name signings, at least to this point. And understandably, the fan base is starting to get a little worried. So on today's show, I'm going to try and make sense of what's going on right now with the New York Jets. I'm going to try and explain why, even though they haven't been super active, that doesn't mean that the Jets are going to be one of the worst teams in the league this year. In fact, I think the odds are

quite good that the Jets will improve on their five-win total from 2024. Now, I think we need to

acknowledge that there's a reason that the Jets have not been super active in free agency this year.

And that goes directly back to what's happened the last two years. You know, heading into 2023 and

24, the jets, you heard it over and over. The jets were all in. And what that meant was that the

jets were really borrowing a lot of their 2025 resources. And at the time, you know, you heard a lot

in the national media, well, no one's going to care how good the Jets are in 2025.

You know, 2025 is a long way off.

Well, whenever you hear that, you should always be a little skeptical because 2025 was always going to arrive.

And when 2025 arrived, people would care about how things looked.

But the Jets essentially restructured contracts, which were done in a way that meant that a lot of the cap hits

that they had the last two years were being pushed to this year. And that includes the Aaron

Rogers contract. It includes the C.J. Mosley contract. It includes other contracts of guys who aren't

here anymore. Javon Kinlaw counts against the cap. Mike Williams still counts against the cap this

year. I mean, it's just a lot of guys who count
