Today we'll discuss how the Jets can show that they are not being influenced by the media based on who they pick in the NFL draft. We'll talk about what could happen in the doomsday scenario

where the Jets do not get a wide receiver in the first or the second round, but we'll begin by

talking about how the Jets can end the NFL draft with a grade of A on their report card.

And our first question comes from Dan, who asked, what would a grade A draft look like for the Jets?

Now, I'm not going to answer this by giving you a specific prospect the Jets need to draft. And part of this is I'm savvy enough

to know that prospect evaluations are tricky this time of year. And the biggest mistake you can

make is to be overconfident in your

own evaluations. I talk a lot on this show about why it's a good idea to trade down. And the

biggest reason it's a good idea to trade down is it's not just true for me. It's true for

NFL teams. You get into a big danger when you're overconfident in your

evaluations of prospects because the NFL draft by its nature, very unpredictable business.

And even if you get your projection, right, there are random things that can happen. You can draft

a good player, as the Jets did with

Elijah Vera Tucker and Jermaine Johnson. And that guy could be as good as advertised, but

just suffer a career-altering injury. And that's not anything you could predict. So I'm less

focused on who the Jets draft because anybody they draft, even guys I think highly of
