On today's show, we're going to talk about the Jets players most impacted by the selections the team made in the 2025 NFL draft. Of course, when the Jets pick a player in the draft, that player replaces

somebody else's role on the roster. So obviously every year, there are players impacted by what

the Jets do in the NFL draft. We can begin by talking about the selection of Armand Membou,

seventh overall. And I think there's a clear player who was impacted by this. It's Chukuma Okorafor, the guy the Jets signed as a free agent from New England in the offseason. He's a tackle. He played most of his career at right tackle. Was the opening day starting left tackle last year for the Patriots, but only lasted 12 snaps before he was benched and then

left the team. Membu figures to start at right tackle. I've said it on the show. I don't think it's 100% that Membu starts, but I think Membu would have to play his way out of the job in training camp. I don't think this is going to be like an open competition where Okorafor has a real chance. And to be honest with you, I think Membu would have to regress from the guy he was at Missouri in order to not win the right tackle job.

Because, look, he drafted a guy seventh overall.

You're expecting him to be a day one starter.

Okorafor really lost his chance to start.

And I would imagine that at the moment he signed, the calculus for Okorafore may have been that the Jets were one of the few teams where there was a conceivable path to starting.

And that conceivable path included the Jets not drafting a tackle in the top 10.

So now with the selection of Membu, Okora for very likely heads to the bench and will be the primary backup.

We could presume it would be what's known as a swing tackle.

A swing tackle is your primary backup who can play either left tackle or right tackle.

And even though Okorafor has spent most of his career playing right tackle, again, he's got a little bit of experience playing on the left side.

I don't think the Jets would want to mess with, if anything happened to Olu Fashtun, if Olu Fashnu suffered an injury needed to miss time, I don't think the Jets would want to mess with Mambu. You know, Mambu is essentially the long-term right tackle. So, you know, as he's learning his, is he's learning the ropes in the NFL? I don't think he's going to want they're going to want to change his position on the fly. So that makes a Coro4 pretty much the top backup tackle.

And I think it's clear this is a good thing for the Jets.

I mean, first of all, you've got a premium prospect who is manning the right tackle spot

in opposed to a journeyman veteran who's been benched two straight years.

And even in his best days, really was not that effective of a tackle in the core
