Do you think it's fair to say, Lisa, that often when God is doing a new thing, he does it in a new way?

0:23.4

I think that's a really profound observation. He certainly does a lot of new things. Well, the miracles of Jesus even. You think he did it this way and then he's spitting in the mud and then he's saying stretch forth your hand. So it doesn't become roped. Yes. There's just something about that that I go, you know, if you're standing in a place where you've never been before,

0:21.7

and the Lord is saying there's something ahead for you,

0:26.2

at least in my own life, I don't want to be surprised if the Lord asks me to step into it in a new way,

0:31.9

a way that I've never known before.

Okay. Hey, hey, hey, backporters. My name is Allison Allen. I'm the 5-foot-12 spiritual wingwoman to Lisa Harper for Backport theology. We are so glad that you are joining us today. And, Lisa, I got to say this,

1:02.9

I'm so excited about this episode. There is something so tender and warm and exciting about a New Year's Eve episode. Well, I was completely, absolutely distracted, because your hair is so on point. So I'll get to warm and tender, but right now I'm just in, what's on point about it? Tell me. It's very sleek and smooth and just very, it's working. Yeah, it's good New Year's hair. Because you know, my hair has a mind of its own. You have good hair. Your hair is minding today. It's minding. Yes, you've got a good looking head today, baby. Thank you, thank you.

1:27.7

All right, let's get to warm and tender. Let's get to warm and tender. Preoccupied by your cloth. And coffee and all the good things. We're talking New Year's Eve today. Can you believe this year has flown? Flown past. Flood. I mean, I feel like we're like in the second quarter. I can't believe already at the end.

1:44.2

Yeah, fast forward the whole year.

1:45.3

I was thinking about this episode, and if I had my druthers, I would be sitting on your porch in the freezing cold, wrapped up in a blanket with a cup of hot cocoa. A little heater right in front of her feet. Yes. So I hope that we can kind of engender that sense of warmth.

2:01.4

We've all got New Year's Eve stories, all of us.

2:04.3

The good, to bad, and the ugly.

2:05.5

That's right, and I've got a lot of all.

2:07.6

Three of those, we can talk about that later.

2:09.9

But in your years of life, is there like a New Year's Eve story or celebration that sort of sticks out above the others?

2:18.3

Yes. Well, I'll just say in the last, let's just say the last couple of decades,

2:24.5

so relatively recent. I've kind of got a good and an ugly.

2:29.1

Okay. All right. Sure.

2:30.8

Sure. Maybe three years ago, three, four years ago, I was with, you know, Lou and

2:35.4

Shelley Giglio have this event called Passion every year for high school and college kids.

2:41.9

Right.

2:42.2

It's usually in Atlanta.
