It's a town full of very, very grumpy ghosts.

A vacant desert.

The government is shut down, partially shut down.

Which I think is an interesting separation, because we've done total shut downs,

and if you live in Washington, those are very funny,

because all of your not essential friends spend the first week going to bars at unreasonable times.

And the second week, everyone starts getting very bored.

Right, yeah, the best situation to be in is to be in DC

and not employed by the federal government,

because we also get some of the happy hour deals,

but we do not have to forego our salary for any time.

And of course, like, important distinction to make in a shutdown,

it is traditional that if and when the shutdown finally ends,

the people who have had to work over the shutdown get paid.

Those are the essential employees who, even though their department is officially not funded,

they still have to work.
