Now, let me just, let me just backtrack and tell you what the Face Act is.

And it was signed into law by President Bill Clinton in 1994.

Republicans, Democrats in Congress passed it.

And it was, it served multiple purposes.

One, to secure the right of a woman to enter an abortion clinic without any confrontation.

And then the law explicitly protects religious freedom.

The statute imposes criminal penalties on anyone who, quote,

by force or threat of force or by physical obstruction intentionally injures, intimidates,

or interferes with the attempts to injure, intimidate, or interfere with any person

lawfully exercising or seeking to exercise

the First Amendment right of religious freedom at a place of religious worship.

Now, the left has historically been the biggest advocates of the Face Act,

mostly because of the abortion provision.
