Tonight we have new Roger Stone tapes that are airing for the first time.

They are different and go beyond the beat exclusive that we broke just last week.

So you will only see these here tonight, along with a live interview with the documentary

who captured this newsworthy footage that is coming up soon, first on the beat tonight.

We begin right now with Jack Smith on offense, though, rebutting Trump's long shot bid

to delay the coup trial until 2026, as the two sides get ready to square off, in person

to court hearing one week from today.

And Smith is shredding one argument that literally only Donald Trump could actually make, at

least factually, the argument that he is so busy going on trial as a defendant in other

cases that he needs extra time for this DOJ coup case, something Trump's lawyers literally

argued.

Now tonight we can report on Smith's new rebuttal, which states that they can work out

any scheduling conflicts with other cases where Trump's a criminal defendant.

It's true there are other cases.

For example, here's new footage NBC caught at the Atlanta courthouse.

This is just today, as Drew Finling, a defense attorney that we've actually had on this

very program where Trump's lawyers, including Mr. Finling, have been seen, meanwhile everyone

on notice for the Friday deadline for Trump to turn himself in for that arrangement.
