A recent study was published that looked into how pro cyclist train. It looked at 28 pro cyclist data over many years, and it gave us a lot of cool insights. It was just published in October. We're going to go through that in this episode of the Ask a Cycling Coach podcast as well as another study that we're just going to lightly skim through and answer some of the questions that you've submitted at train and road.com slash podcast or down below in the YouTube or Spotify comments. I'm Coach Jonathan Lee. I'm stoked to go through this episode with you. Before I go any further, I do want to quickly mention the fact that over the last couple of weeks, you'll have seen if you pay attention to our social channels, some exciting announcements all about Traynor Road AI. It's a new big launch for us, the biggest one that we've

0:39.2

launched in a long time. It's coming very soon. We had intentions of having it out by now, but we

0:43.5

ran into a few polish issues that we needed to take care of before we get it out. So if, however,

0:49.5

if you want to get your hands on it earlier, you get the chance to do that, head over to the

0:53.3

forum. Go to trainer road.com slash forum. You can sign up and get early access, or I should say,

0:59.0

put your name in for the potential to get early access as part of the beta for this feature before

1:03.6

we launch it. We've expanded it significantly over the last couple of weeks, and we're expanding

1:08.9

it consistently. So if you want a chance at using it before we launch it, you can go do that.

1:14.3

We'll also have a whole lot of information coming out once it does launch.

1:17.6

So once you get the polish items taken care of, we'll get it out there.

1:21.3

Stay tuned for that.

1:22.3

Without further ado, let's get into some studies.

1:24.4

First one, the one that we're just going to quickly skim through.

1:27.8

It's called no performance effects of Altered Carbohydrate Distribution during Intense Cycling

1:32.1

by Dr. Tim Poligar and his colleagues, and it was published this year in 2025.

1:37.1

Now, we're hoping to have Tim on the podcast again, and specifically to cover this study.

1:41.9

So I'm going to keep this one pretty surface level,

1:44.3

but it's really interesting and raises some questions

1:46.7

as to how cyclists in general have,

1:50.5

perhaps it's dogmatic the way that they've handled

1:52.9

carbohydrate feeding over the course of events,

1:55.0

particularly maybe in the case of triathlon.
