| 0:00.0 | Welcome to Sober Awkward Top Tens, your weekly dose of 10 things you didn't ask for, but you |
| 0:09.6 | definitely need. It's a bit like therapy, but cheaper, less professional, and with probably a bit more |
| 0:16.4 | chat about mine and Hamish's bodily functions. Hamish and I will be taking turns delivering sober |
| 0:22.0 | truths, odd tips and life updates you never, ever knew you needed. So brace yourself. It's about |
| 0:29.7 | to get very awkward. Well, hello and welcome to my first crack at our top 10 series. |
| 0:42.2 | And what I want to focus on, given it's my first go at this, are the top 10 small changes that you can make that can have a huge impact on a long-lasting sobriety. |
| 0:52.9 | Now, I'm going to back myself to be slightly better than |
| 0:55.4 | Vick at counting from 10 to 1. She struggled with that. I'm not entirely sure if that's something |
| 1:01.5 | we need to address. Potentially, she is now I feel old enough to be able to do it, you know, |
| 1:06.9 | pretty much with her eyes closed. But, you know, I'm not going to slag her off before I've |
| 1:11.2 | given it a crack myself. And I'm also going to try and do this entire thing in under 10 minutes. |
| 1:16.0 | I want this to be bite size. I want it to be something you can literally listen to as you |
| 1:20.5 | wake up on a Saturday morning or on your way home on a Friday night and implement over the |
| 1:24.6 | course of the weekend. So, coming in at number 10, always an easy one to |
| 1:29.6 | start. I want you to celebrate the small, sober milestones. So I want you to have a little app |
| 1:36.1 | day tracker if you'd like it. And I don't want you to just wait for 100 days or wait for |
| 1:41.1 | a thousand days or wait for the one year, two, year, three year, whatever it is. I want you to celebrate the smaller ones. I want you to celebrate one week. I want you celebrate 10 days, 20 days, 50 days. Really, I want to have celebrations all the limit in time, because who doesn't want to have more celebrations? And half of the challenge of sobriety is figuring out how the hell you celebrate without booze. So not only is this going to help you congratulate yourself, |
| 2:03.0 | which feeds into the smugness that also people have, |
| 2:06.1 | but also it's going to help you practice how to do these little celebrations. |
| 2:10.4 | The sons are the booze. |
| 2:12.5 | Number nine, now this sounds like a boring one, |
| 2:14.7 | but it is an important one, |
