0:21.4	Actually, the actual content of the series is going to begin tomorrow, but I want to talk to you
0:25.5	today about how this series came about in my own thinking and why I think it's so important. One of the many things that my wife has influenced me through
0:37.1	is through her lifelong study of the Book of Proverbs. When she was a young teenager she began reading the book of Proverbs
0:47.0	daily. She would read the chapter that corresponds to the day of the month on that day. So for example, Proverbs chapter 2, she would read on the second of the month,
0:57.0	chapter 3 on the third of the month, and it works out really well because the book of Proverbs has 31 chapters. Now the thing that has really
1:07.2	impacted me on this is that I've always thought that's a great idea. I've always
1:11.5	seen the great fruit of it in her life, but only within probably the last year have I begun practicing that myself.
1:19.0	And it has impacted me tremendously because the Proverbs are full of God's wisdom.
1:27.1	And you actually have entire chapters more than one in the Proverbs that tell you the value of wisdom and the great benefits that come
1:36.1	from wisdom and how diligently we as God's people should be seeking wisdom.
1:42.8	And so as I began thinking about that
1:45.6	and recognizing the need for it in my own life,
1:49.4	I began also seeing that we live in a very foolish world.
1:54.6	There's all kinds of craziness going around.
1:56.6	When I say craziness, I mean literal craziness.
2:00.4	People who really aren't thinking well. People whose percent... people who's perceptions of reality are twisted and distorted and there is not
2:08.9	wisdom in what they are thinking there's not wisdom guiding their actions and it goes down to the most practical of levels.
2:18.0	Like how we parent, how we live with our marriage partner, how we think about sexuality and the basics of male and female. You see there are all kinds of
2:28.6	twisted notions that are not wise and yet our culture is pursuing them.
