When you're buying meat at the grocery store, is it worth the extra money to get the organic

0:03.7

pasture-raised grass-fed meat versus the conventional feedlot, corn-fed, or grain-fed meat?

0:09.9

In today's show, I'm going to share with you two different studies that have convinced me

0:13.5

that going with the pasture-raised grass-fed meat is actually worth the extra dollar.

One study that was recently published in the Journal of Animal Science

0:22.5

and Biotechnology by Stephen Van Vallette over at Utah State University. His lab is doing a lot of

0:29.0

great research comparing the phenotypic differences between conventionally raised,

0:33.6

philot, grain-fed animals versus grass-fed, Paschor-raised regenerative animals.

0:39.4

In terms of the constitutions and constituents in the meat,

0:43.0

not just the fats, the omega-3s, the omega-6 ratios, and so forth,

0:46.3

but the phenolics.

0:47.6

We're going to look at that as well as bison,

0:49.5

the different compounds in bison,

0:51.8

and the health of the animal and the mitochondrial metabolites, levels

0:55.5

of oxidative stress, vitamin E, and beyond.

0:58.3

So let's get into this study titled, Pasha Finishing of Bison Improves Animal Metabolic

Health and Potential Health Promoting Compounds in Meat.

So what was really interesting about this study, and the graphics are phenomenal,

1:12.0

I'll share this one on the screen right here, figure four. So essentially what we're looking at here

1:16.5

is the same animal, right? This is the same phenotype. These animals are not genetically or

1:22.5

phenotypically different, but they're raised in different environments eating different foods.

1:27.3

And it turns out
