Summary

I am beyond excited to welcome Baby Bear 🐻🐾 into my heart and home. He’s a 9-week-old shepherd mix who just escaped the cold steel and chaos of Devore Shelter—one of the highest-kill shelters in the country. Baby Bear was found with his three siblings near the 19000 block of Kendall in San Bernardino, and now he’s finally safe in my care. He’s headed into a loving foster home where he’ll be cuddled, cherished, and shown the way by his new foster sister, Lily. No more fear. No more cages. Just healing, play, and the freedom to finally be a puppy. 💛 This foster journey is in partnership with The Cat and Dog Rescue nonprofit, @floefsociety—the passion project of my son and daughter-in-law. I’m so excited to share this journey with all of you and to open my home and heart along the way. His three siblings are still at Devore, and it is our mission to get them fostered and adopted. I hope you’ll consider fostering, adopting, and donating to nonprofits dedicated to saving animals from kill shelters and euthanasia lists. Every life is worth fighting for. #RescueBabyBear #DevoreSurvivor #FosterJourney #FloëfSociety #FosterLove #AdoptDontShop - Listen to my Morning Monologue: I’m sharing my take on pressing issues, enlightening research on human behavior, answering questions I get by email, and my favorite, most instructive interactions with callers. Everything you’ll hear is designed to help you become a better spouse, parent, family member, co-worker, friend, and human being. It’s the free therapy you need! Okay, fourth day, having a new puppy, looks a lot like an Australian Shepherd, but evidently there's a thing, which is a German

0:41.0

Australian shepherd. It's actually an entity like poodle poo nonsense. Okay? But mostly Australian,

0:51.4

this dog is just adorable. Now, the important part that I'm mostly dealing with, I mean the potty training, you know,

0:59.1

you just, you have to sacrifice a lot, be on top of it, take them out all the time.

1:04.3

Fortunately, at this point, I've only had him since Monday afternoon.

1:07.6

I put him gently on the grass or dirt, and I say, go pee-pee. And he does. I mean,

1:15.8

it's like pee-p-on-command. And I've only seen two upsies in the house. And I don't know how

1:22.8

those got by me, because I'm on him all the time. I must have blinked. You know how kids are. But the big

1:29.4

problem was how is he going to relate to lilybug and back in it. So she tries to get him to play,

1:41.0

you know, the jumping and barking, which is the invitation to to play and it all does to scare him because

1:46.8

he's just a baby doesn't know what any of that means she sniffs him but if he comes anywhere near

1:56.7

and touches her she's up and away she still wants her her space. And I read up on it, and that's

2:02.7

exactly what you're supposed to do. Let him figure it out. Let him have their space. They will work

2:08.5

it out. He will get older. He will know what play means, and then things will start changing.

2:13.4

But right now I'm sitting here on half a chair because she's behind me between my tush and the back of the chair,

2:23.8

and that's where she likes to be.

2:25.5

And I have made sure that I don't change anything.
