Today is January 13, 26. I'm Liberty Hardy, here with Vanessa Diaz, and we're coming to you from bookriot.com.

1:03.7

Here I am. How are you? Hi. I'm full of books. How are you? There's so many books talk about and you have way more than I do. Well, I just, you know, our new thing is we're going to try and

1:09.3

like read some and talk about some we're interested in and some that are, you know, noteworthy for whatever reason. So there's like twice as many books out today as there were last week on the sixth. So I got a little carried away. Maybe. I don't know. No, I was just going to say it. I mean, last week I had a hard time knowing how, what direction was what. Like it was, you know, I only took a little bit of time off over the holidays. But, you know, publishing just slows down and it felt very, like I felt discombivirated. And I thought it was me and that I realized that publishing itself had kind of not woken up. I mean, and obviously the publishing of the actual new releases part is long, you know, that was planned a long time ago. But just in general, I felt like things were still kind of sleepy. And then the number of releases that came out this week seemed really indicative of just the pace of it in general. Like, oh, no, we're awake. We're hitting the ground running now. Like it's time to do the reading. So yeah, we're going to talk about so many books. And that's great, because I love that we're getting to cover more of them, hopefully, you know, a little bit more genre expansively and just get to wax about all the stuff we're excited about. So, yeah. Well, let's start with what you're reading. I am reading a lot. Well, yeah, I didn't even put all the stuff I'm actually reading on this sheet, but I'm really excited about the stuff that I'm reading.

2:21.6

One of them I am almost done with.

2:23.5

I think I said this on a recent episode of the book Riot podcast, too, so you think I would have finished it by now, but just haven't had the time.

2:28.9

And that's The Body by Bethany C. Morrow, which comes out, I think in February, right? Oh, I thought it was February. Oh. You know, these things change all the time. I thought it was next week, too. Then I could just want I looked it up a few days ago in soft February, but maybe it's next week still. Liberty will look that up for us. Yeah, I'm going to look it up right now. But it is so good. And I, again, Unless things take a really well turn in like the next 50 pages, I'm really confident I'm going to continue recommending it. So Bethany Morrow has written a whole bunch of books that I keep saying I'm going to read and then just like haven't, which is, you know, story of my life. But I think this is the darkest she's gotten in her books from, I mean, I know she has, did you read Mem? I feel like you may have talked about mem a long time. Yeah. That was, that was her debut. Yes. Yeah, that was fun. She had the horror one about the two girls a couple of years ago, which I'm forgetting.

3:25.5

Oh, I almost just said it.
