Well, per a statement from NASA last week, two international teams of astronomers have discovered

a new planet just 40 light years away that could potentially support human life. Dubbed Gleasy

12B, the planet is believed to be only slightly smaller than

Earth and was spotted using observations from NASA's Tess or transiting exoplanet survey satellite.

Per NASA's statement, it is the nearest transiting temperate-Earth-sized world located to date.
