I'm Bob Boylin, with new music from Julie Deuron.

It's Julie's first solo album of new songs in nine years.

She's been busy working on other projects, including one called Julie and the Wrong Guys.

She also paired up with Mount Eerie on the Lost Wisdom Part 2 project, and they came

in to do a tiny desk in late 2019 with that.

But I'm in love with this new album called I Thought of You, and I asked Julie to tell

us all about the opening track you gave me the key.

So previous to writing, you gave me the key.

I had been laying low and going within and doing inter-searching and getting healthy.

And then I made it through the fall and winter in spring, and it was summertime.

And I was starting to spend more time with friends, and I was starting to do shows, and

I was, yeah, I was meeting wonderful people and having good experiences.

And I was ready to laugh again and to be out there in the world.

And so one day I had an afternoon off, actually, at a friends apartment, and I picked up her

guitar, and all these lyrics came pouring out, and the music came pouring out.

And so it was very spontaneous, very intuitive, not a lot of editing, if any, actually.

And the same thing happened when we went in the studio with the musicians on the album,

we didn't really rehearse.

They hadn't heard the song previously, and it all came together very quickly.

It was very natural, Daniel Romano and guitar, his guitar parts are amazing.

I can't imagine the song without it, and the drumming, Ian Romano's drumming is so awesome,
