There's different ways that a man abandons his family.

What transpired before these ladies became widows?

They were living in Bethlehem and there was a famine and so Elimelech, the husband,

moved them to Moab. They were there for 10 years and in that time frame, the two sons that

were with them, married Moabite women. Elimelech died, the two sons died,

and they're in a godless place.

And so Naomi, the wife, and then the two daughter-in-law's Ruth and Orpa, are faced with a
