I would say happy New Year, but we're long past the date that Larry David says is the final day on which you can say happy New Year.

So we'll just say that we hope that you are doing well. And it is nice to be with you, along with Mass &Sports.com National's insider Mark Zuckerman.

Coming up on the show, not one but two great guests, Nationals vice president of amateur scouting,

Danny Haas, and Nationals senior director of amateur scouting. Brad Sielach, they are the two most

significant hires by the Nats, and they're revamping of their front office over these last few months.

Danny and Brad know each other well. They work together with the Orioles. And Danny and Brad,

very key to the Nats moving forward in terms of drafting and player development. So we very much look forward to that conversation.

Are you enjoying? Are you getting ample rest and relaxation in this Nats off season?

What at least so far has to be the quietest Nats off season since the franchise came to D.C.

Because, boy, there just has not been much happening. I've had many opportunities to take a little

afternoon nap, Al, this winter, because I have not been too worried about anything breaking. This is

pretty remarkable. Outside of, I'd say, maybe the winter of the lockout, where you knew there was

not any possibility of any news for several months, this has been the quietest, deadest winter that I

can ever remember for this team. That's not over yet. I mean, there's still time to do stuff.

And I suppose in some respects, you do look around the league. They're not the only team that's

been quiet. There's a whole lot of free agents still out there. For whatever reason, the market's
