Welcome to our daily rosary meditation.

Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

I think many people don't really look forward to heaven.

Now, don't get me wrong.

They think it's better than the alternative.

They'd rather go to heaven than hell.

But they don't passionately long for heaven. Now the Bible tells us that in heaven we will enjoy God.

But that only makes sense to those who already enjoy God. Many of us have never tasted what God is like.

Many of us seem to enjoy a vast majority of things more than we think we would enjoy God.

And we may even fear heaven because all the good stuff to do seems to be in this world.

And we fear losing that good stuff.

We may think, what are we going to do in heaven?

Sounds kind of boring.

And we think that life on earth is much more interesting than heaven will be.

So how do we cultivate a good desire for heaven?

How do we get excited about it when we aren't already?

Our Father who art in heaven, hallow it be your name.

Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us to stay our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation,

deliver us from evil, amen.
