This full episode is nearly two hours long with really shocking details and analysis about

the capital riot that I don't think you can get anywhere else. About an hour of the episode

is an interview with Ryan Becker, host of a podcast called The Socialist Program, which I highly recommend, and we wanted

to share a bit of that conversation that I found pretty mind-blowing.

On January 12th, six days afterwards, after the uprising, the Washington Post wrote,

A day before rioters stormed Congress, an FBI office in Virginia issued an explicit warning

that extremists were preparing to travel to Washington, D.C. to commit violence and war,

according to internal documents reviewed by the Washington Post.

A situational information report approved for release the day before the U.S. Capitol

riot painted a dire portrait of dangerous plans, including individuals sharing a map of the

complexes tunnels and possible rally points for would-be conspirators to meet in Kentucky,

Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and South Carolina, and head in groups to

Washington, D.C. Now, that was beforehand. That's the FBI. They're in touch with all the different

police agencies. So how could it be that the Capitol Police, who have 2,300 officers and whose

only task is to defend the Capitol building, passed out rules of

engagement saying don't use tear gas, don't use pepper spray, don't certainly use firearms.

They had no riot-clad police.

They didn't set up any fencing.

They did nothing.
