This week, we are catching up on a case that was already disturbing and has now taken

an even darker turn in court.

And I want to be very clear that there's nothing love about this murder.

This is child abuse.

Newly released prosecution documents are giving the public the clearest picture yet of

the case

prosecutors say they are building against singer David, whose real name is David Anthony Burke.

And while much of this remains allegation at this stage, the details laid out over the past week

are significant. New claims about the timeline, the alleged motive, the disposal of evidence,

and what prosecutors

say digital records will show. For anyone just joining the story, Celeste Rivas Hernandez was a teenager

from Lake Elsinore, California. Her remains were later found in the front truck of a Tesla

connected to Burke. Prosecutors have charged Burke with murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child

under 14, and unlawful mutilation of human remains. He has pleaded not guilty, and his defense has

maintained that he did not murder Celeste and was not the cause of her death. The case is in Los Angeles

County Superior Court, and Burke remains held without bail.

Prosecutors have also said that the case may qualify for the death penalty.

But as of the latest available reporting, the district attorney's office has not yet made a final decision on whether to seek it.
