And you are this nation's backbone. Now college football has officially adopted the helmet communication pre-play for one person on the field

and the two minute warning.

Cool, this one really isn't a needle mover for me and I'll tell you

why. First off to those who think signaling is dead, it's not. Just because the quarterback has a microphone in his helmet doesn't mean that you don't have to signal to all 10 other guys that are on the football field.

It really just eliminates the quarterback

having to get the signal visually from the sideline

and can provide some quick insight on the field

between a coach and player that you would only get

typically after a drive or during a timeout. Remember, it stops 15 seconds

before the play clock runs out or when the ball is snapped. It's not open the whole time. Now if you go

up tempo, this really doesn't do that much for you, but in a great stroke of irony, the

advances in new technology may actually put us backwards in the time machine

where huddling becomes sexy again. Just another example of how football and sports are really
