Jalen Waddle, who the Broncos traded for just a couple of weeks ago. We got to talk to George

Peyton about Jalen

Waddle for the very first time. And straight off the bat, George Peyton said Jalen Waddle is one of the

most explosive playmakers in the NFL. That's why the Broncos gave up a first round pick

and a third round pick for him. He said they Broncos did talk to the dolphins at the trade deadline last year, but weren't

that close to getting a deal done because they were just asking for so much. Now, the Broncos did

get the deal done now. And talk started right after the combine before free agency started. So the

Broncos kind of knew that they were going to go after Jalen Waddle. And that's why they did not make any big moves at the start of free agency, because they had a big move in their mind.

And when it comes to the Broncos' reaction to getting Jalen Waddle, Bo Nix was pretty excited, George Payton said.

He went and talked to him in the training room right after the trade went down.

And then Bo went to dinner with Jalen Waddle and a bunch of the Broncos brass.

That very first night that he was in town right before the trade officially went through.

And George Payton joked that Bo Nex kind of thinks he's a quasi-GM.

And so sometimes has suggestions about moves that the Broncos should make to the Broncos actual GM and

George said sometimes those are good sometimes they don't work, but he thinks this one is going to work because Jalen Waddle is pretty

special. George Payton also talked to Pat Sertan when the trade went down in fact George called Pat on the phone to let him know that this trade was going down.
