Phil couldn't join us for this episode.

However, I have two lovely guests joining me today.

One of them is a filmmaker, film historian, Mr. Jim Hemphill, and his wife, screenwriter,

film historian, Kelly Goodner.

Thanks for having us. Yeah, thanks for having us. We are a new Beverly enthusiast, so we're very happy

to be here. Yes, very nice. Perfect guests. Jim, this is your second time on a calendar, and so you know the

drill. We're going to go through the month's programming for September. I'll do my best to keep things moving as Phil does so well

when he's on the show. But basically it looks like the month in terms of overall thematics,

there is a really interesting program of Leonard Moulton presents rarities from the Universal

Vaults. That's one thing that we'll talk about. The new acclaimed release,

his three daughters. And then there's films by Anya Svarda, Brian De Palma, Currasawa, Scorsese,

and many more, of course, all on 35 millimeter. But let's get into this here. There's a lot

to discuss. And starting on the second of september uh and

yes just the second uh we are running constantine and the watcher so it's kind of a kiano reeves

double bill here which is interesting this is two is two lesser seen, lesser talked about,

I think, Keanu films. Now, Jim, you're a Constantine fan? I am, and I was actually even more

of a fan revisiting it this time. I hadn't seen, yeah, I hadn't seen it since it came out. And I

remembered liking it when it came out. And I liked it even more. I think outside of its time, its pleasures are kind of more evident in a way

because I think it has a lot of character.
