The New Beverly Cinema presents the Pure Cinema Podcast, New Beverly Calendar Edition, December 2025.

Joining me as always is the wonderful Mr. Elric Kane and, of course, Mr. Phil Blankenship from the new Beverly. Hello Phil. Hello Brian. I want to point out that Elric is in festive red today. Yes, he is. With an Orson Welles T-shirt. Very nice. For those in the know. Yes. And we have a returning guest. He's coming back for the fourth time. Fest of fourth. Festive fourth. Yes. And we're very happy that he's back. We'd love to keep it going as long as we can. But Mr. Sean Fentasy joining us again to talk December movies at the New Beverly. I'm so happy to be here. I'm not leaving. I will show up here on this day every year in perpetuity. Awesome. All right. That's a binding contract as an audio binding contract just so you know know. We're great to have you back, sir. Always a pleasure to see you. Always a pleasure to hang and talk movies. We love it. You guys are the best. I'm excited to talk. Speaking of seeing Sean, I think that he probably has a lot of new seers because you are now filming your podcast episodes. Yeah, we are. We are. I deeply regret it, but it is something that is happening. This energy, this like four nice people in a room looking at each other with no cameras, this is how I was raised in podcasting, and I do miss it. Did you feel like you, because I definitely felt like I changed a bit. We had to do it briefly on the other one. It was forced on YouTube, not with good cameras, and I didn't like the feeling. I felt like I was altering myself a little bit. Yeah, it's inevitable. I think that there's some slight performance change. Hopefully, we're maintaining the spirit of what we're doing. But it's not, it's a different vibe. Yeah. It is a different. And also, I'm 43 years old and atrophying by the day. And I'm trying to, it wouldn't be my perfect timing for going onto video in terms of stages of life, but it is what it is.

1:50.7

I do want to point out, though, that I've seen clips of it in my, like, Instagram feed nonstop.

1:56.6

I'm sorry.

1:57.0

And that, uh, you going through Charlie XX's, uh, recent letterbox list was like, I feel like that needs to be a recurring segment. I feel like she should be the next guest on a calendar episode, the way that she's been knocking out films. She's really committed to cinema. Yeah, yeah. It's funny to show how out of sorts I am, I only know who she is because she started talking about movies.

2:34.2

And I was like, hey, this girl's cool, but I didn't know her music. Once upon the time I used to write about pop music, and so I became aware of her just as I kind of cycled out of really knowing and caring about pop music, but she definitely has thrown herself headlong into the movie world. Yeah, no, I started one of the first letterbox ones when they had. It was cool, you know.

2:34.8

Good taste.

2:35.0

Like I said in the elevator, I love that she's putting the young folks onto some good stuff. Yeah, exactly. That is huge. Can't get enough. You know, I just saw Addison Ray play at the Greek, and she came out and did two songs with her, so I was very excited. And then, of course, you know, the trailer for the moment just dropped. And if you want to have a seizure, go watch it now.

2:52.0

All right.

2:53.0

Nice.

2:54.0

But before we get it, course, you know, the trailer for the moment just dropped. And if you want to have a seizure,

2:51.5

go watch it now. All right. Nice. But before we get into December, I do want to point out that

2:56.5

I saw you three gentlemen recently at the New Beverly's 2000s Terrathon Returns. I hope you

3:01.8

had a good time with that. I do want to kind of bust Elric's balls, though, because he

3:07.0

hyped up a little movie called Venom during your...

3:10.9

Somebody had to.

3:12.1

I don't know if somebody had to.

3:14.0

But during your recent Halloween horror marathon episode, and it was a little awkward for me

3:21.3

because I had already booked it and programmed it before that episode dropped.

3:25.5

But all three of you left and didn't watch Venom.

3:29.3

So I'm not sure how well it played.

3:32.4

I watched the first 20 minutes.
