Summary

When Becky moved into an old stone home in Boulder, Colorado, she couldn’t shake the feeling that something—or someone—was always nearby. Shadows darted through doorways, a presence hovered near her bed, and it wasn’t until move-out day that she learned the house had a well-documented ghost: a woman in white who once interrupted a child therapy session. Years later, Becky’s son Alden had his own encounter—this time at a preschool in Burlington, Vermont. Alden made fast friends with a boy named Max… except no other child saw him, and no Max was enrolled. It wasn’t until recently that Alden, now older, confirmed what his mom had always suspected: Max was real—but not alive.

0:05.4	Hi, my name is Becky, and I'm calling from Burlington, Vermont.
0:09.8	And my son and I have been listening pretty religiously to your podcast when we can.
0:16.9	And I wanted to call him this story.
0:19.7	There's more than one, because my son has one, too one too and he is 10 and his name is Alden.
0:25.6	So my story is when I was living in Colorado in Boulder years ago, I moved into an old stone house with a friend of mine.
0:39.3	And there was a guy that was living there.
0:41.9	And he had originally been living there for a while.
0:47.5	And we were probably there not very long into it.
0:53.6	It was a cute house, three-bedroom, you know, old stone structure, at least old for Colorado,
0:59.8	and probably like 1800 maybe.
1:03.8	And, you know, I had never, living there, I never really felt like I was by myself exactly.
1:12.4	You know, I kind of felt like when I was falling asleep at night, I would, you know,
1:16.2	there was something at the end of my bed, just kind of watching me.
1:20.0	And it felt a little uncomfortable, but not horribly uncomfortable.
1:23.0	And I go to the bathroom and I just kind of felt like there was a presence there too.
1:27.4	And then, you know,
1:29.3	sometimes I'd be watching TV downstairs and would be out of the corner of my eye see something
1:35.9	down sort of the hallway through the dining room into the kitchen, something moving out of the corner
1:41.9	of my eye. I, of course, denied all these things. You know, I'm in my 20s and just, like, I don't know what's going on there.
1:47.6	It doesn't make any sense.
1:48.9	So I just kind of ignored it.
