another book and don't worry I'm not going to talk anymore about 1923. For now

I'll probably mention it fairly soon. Now this is another book that is

incredibly dear to my heart that has been released. Roughly the same time is

1923. The 1989 blue road book. Now it's a new departure for the

Cycling Almond Act for the road book. We have decided that as 2018 was

year zero when the red road book came into existence that we would start

retro-fitting history and go back in time sporadically and we have decided to

start with the greatest ever year of road racing which was 1989 of course

illuminated by the closest ever Tour de France on the Champs-Elysées. The

finish between La Unfinion and Gregeland. Basically if you're familiar with the

red book the blue book does exactly the same job but for a historical year

setting into context what racing was like back then and also what was going on

in the world. We've got some amazing stories it was the fall of the Berlin

Wall it was Tiananmen Square everything was happening in the world we've got

contributions from key players who have sent enlightening material into the

the road book for us like Kathy Lamont who is with Greg the whole way round

France she's written for the road book and so too has Pippa York who won the

Kellogg's Tour of Britain that year. It's a phenomenal bit of work edited by

my good friend the the the unrepeatable force of nature that is Matt
