We are here to get our minds and our hearts aligned with the truth of God for this day.

This day is what matters right now.

It's for us to get our minds and our hearts aligned with God's words so that we can live

out the truth of that word.

And today we have a word coming to us from the Book of Proverbs chapter 30 about greed.

I don't know who you tend to think about greed.

I think a lot of people think, well, I don't struggle with greed, you know, just as a matter

of fact right off hand.

But friends, it's one of those things we have to look more deeply.

We have to be concerned about on a more thoughtful level because greed is very subtle.

Greed is one of those things that can get into our hearts when we not even know it.

So let's look at Proverbs 30, 15 and 16.

To see how the writer of this little proverb gives us context in which to think about greed.

He describes, first of all, he says, the leech has two daughters, give and give in a

stopper a moment.

He's introducing this idea of greed by talking about a leech.

Now, if you were to say of someone, man, he is such a leech.

What would you be saying?

Would you be saying that guy is someone who tries to get from other people all the time.

Because we know what a leech is.
