The environment you’re in right now is strategically designed to draw out something greater within you. In this transformative message from Luke 2:46-52, Sarah Jakes Roberts explores how God places us in situations that demand more from our hidden spiritual capacity.
Just as Moses was drawn from the Nile, God pulls out what He’s already placed inside us through the environments we encounter. Hannah’s story in 1 Samuel reveals that breakthrough often requires doing something unnatural to access the supernatural.
When Jesus humbled Himself to live in human limitation, He modeled the ultimate act of surrendering what was natural for something greater. Your willingness to shift your environment, not just wait for your season to change, may be the key to experiencing what God wants to do through you.
Obedience is the only strategy for stewarding something bigger than your understanding. This message shows us how to break out of limitation and step into supernatural breakthrough.

| 0:44.1 | for some of you, but to catch up some of our other brothers and sisters in the faith, I want to |
| 0:49.1 | give you a little bit of context of what's happening at this point in the text. Jesus is a boy. He's 12 years old, born of a |

| 1:05.6 | He started his ministry at 30 years old. We know about his conception. We know about his birth. And then there is this one |
| 1:15.0 | moment in his adolescence that we are privy to. Nothing else that we know about his journey and his |

| 1:29.0 | And I recognize that when I read this text, that I look at it with a certain cultural lens. |
| 1:33.5 | You have to know this, that when you read scripture, that you're bringing your own filter, |

| 1:39.2 | There's a bias that comes because you're seeing things sometimes from your experiences or from what you've heard over and over again. |
| 1:47.2 | And so I have to tell you that when I read this text, it makes me think that Jesus wanted a pal-pow. |
| 1:52.3 | I'm going to be honest with you. |
| 1:54.3 | It's going to make sense when I read it a little bit later, but Jesus got smart with Mary and Joseph. |
| 1:58.7 | And when I was growing up, you know, you didn't just say what you wanted to say to your parents, |
| 2:04.2 | but, you know, he is Jesus, so I just kind of let it slide. |
