Summary

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

JOHN 4:1-15 - Now when Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John 2 (although Jesus Himself did not baptize, but only His disciples), 3 He left Judea and departed again for Galilee. 4 And He had to pass through Samaria. 5 So He came to a town of Samaria called Sychar, near the field that Jacob had given to his son Joseph. 6 Jacob's well was there; so Jesus, wearied as He was from his journey, was sitting beside the well. It was about the sixth hour. 7 A woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.” 8 (For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.) 9 The Samaritan woman said to Him, “How is it that You, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) 10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.” 11 The woman said to him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw water with, and the well is deep. Where do you get that living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob? He gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock.” 13 Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” 15 The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here to draw water.”

0:10.0

to get your mind aligned with the truth of God's Word. That's really what matters every

0:15.5

day when we wake up. Our minds are kind of defaulted to our natural, non-spiritual, non-Jesus-filled

0:23.6

way of thinking. And therefore, we live out of that way of thinking. And so, the morning

0:28.6

mindset is here to help you every day. Get your mind aligned with God's truth. Today,

0:33.9

we're going to be looking at John chapter 4, verses 1 through 9, a very familiar story to many who

0:39.8

have grown up in church, but there are some powerful realizations we can make as we study this.

0:45.7

Before we get into it, I want to encourage you if you would like to be a part of what's going

0:49.6

on on the morning mindset in probably the most important way that can ever be done is through

0:55.8

becoming a part of the prayer team. You receive a weekly or semi-weekly email, telling you some

1:02.2

of the al Highnessine things that we could use your prayers for. You can find out more about how to

do that in the description for this episode or go to morningmindsetmedia.com slash prayer team.

Okay, let's dig into John chapter 4. We have about 15 verses to read today. And so I want to get

1:21.0

right into it and then we'll kind of unpack it from there. It says, now when Jesus learned that

the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making a baptizing more disciples than John, although Jesus

1:32.2

himself did not baptize, but only his disciples, he left Judea and departed again for Galilee.
