It's 80 days since the US-brokered ceasefire came into effect in Gaza, phase one of it, at least.

Today the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in Florida to meet President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago property

to discuss, amongst other things, phase two of that ceasefire plan.

And this is where it gets more complicated because phase two involves setting up a Palestinian

technocratic government and the establishment of an international security force.

Well, within the past few minutes, Mr. Trump and Mr Netanyahu have emerged from initial talks

to speak to reporters, both having very warm words for each other and the friendship between Israel and the United States.

We had a big meeting with a lot of people, a lot of talent from Israel and from the U.S.

And I think we came to a lot of conclusion, a lot of conclusions and conclusions.

And it's very little difference in what we're looking at and where we want to be, where we want to go.

More on those comments coming in a moment.

First, though, let's check in with Gaza, because it's facing new threats to civilians as

wintry storms have been battering the strip.

17 people have been killed while sheltering in bomb damaged buildings that have collapsed in high winds and rain.

For a fuller picture, I've been speaking to Garda El Corde, who's a local journalist in Gaza City.

Most of the people of Gaza City, they are living inside tents, facing this coldness, this bad

weather that hits all of Gaza's trip. They are swimming in water as I'm sitting here and in front

of my eyes, I see people who are living inside the tents and around them spots of water,

like lakes around them, the sewage, the infrastructure is completely destroyed.
