Welcome to the podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Schaefer. Today on the show, we're going to be talking about, I think, one of the most interesting and maybe even perhaps one of the most telling moves happening right now in global AI.

0:11.9

And that is that Finland's Nest AI just raised 100 million euros. And they raised it and signed a strategic partnership with Nokia to build AI systems

0:22.2

specifically for defense and national security. Now, in Europe, I think right now, this is a

0:27.7

really hot topic. It's definitely been out of vogue, I think, for many years in the past,

0:33.1

working with technology and defense. But I think right now we see that there definitely are

0:36.7

foreign adversaries that are willing to invade countries, and you need to have the technology

0:42.5

to fight against that. So I'm happy that this is kind of coming back to the forefront,

0:46.0

where this is no longer voodoo or taboo. I guess you could say, you know, Google in the past,

0:50.8

had a whole bunch of employees that pressured them to not work with any sort of defense departments in the United States. And, you know, at the end of the day, if you live

0:59.6

inside of the United States or for, you know, something like Nokia or one of these other

companies living inside of Finland, if you live inside of a country, you would want to

1:10.8

contribute to the national

1:12.1

security because the country is directly benefiting your company. Okay, off of my soapbox with that one,

1:19.1

let's talk about what the company is doing. I think it's a really big signal that Europe is stepping

1:23.7

directly into the arena with some really serious innovation. They have serious funding

1:29.6

and they have serious intent. We're seeing more and more of these deals come out of the EU where

1:34.8

they're heavily investing in AI and I think it's going to have a lot of positive impacts.

1:40.0

Before we get into that, I wanted to say you probably pay for multiple subscriptions to get

1:43.6

access to all of the best AI tools.

1:45.9

Chat Jupy, Claude, Google Gemini, 11 Labs for audio.

1:48.9

There is a lot of cool tools for images, and the costs can definitely add up very quickly.

1:54.1

I had the same problem, so I built AIbox.a.i.
