is Amanda Lamb who is a crime reporter,

an author of crime books and of children's books. I hope those two never intersect.

Right, right for sure. And thanks for having me. Oh my gosh, we're so happy to have you.

Tell us a little bit about where you cover crime and I know that you're a reporter

and you cover your area you know doggedly. Well I've been a reporter here at

WRL in Raleigh, North Carolina for gosh 26 years now and most of that

time I have covered crime but I really started focusing on that about 17 years ago so I cover everything

from the crime all the way through the investigation all the way through the trial so not unlike

you and I've had that opportunity to kind of see the criminal justice

system from the very beginning and taking it all the way through to the to the

resolution so I've had the opportunity to connect with so many people in the criminal justice

system over the years whether it's victims families defendants families lawyers

judges obviously investigators and you know it just kind of as you know becomes a lifestyle

and you get the opportunity to kind of see these cases all the way through and I've had

the opportunity to do that for many many years. I also write true crime books and I'm working on a couple of true crime podcasts now.

That's fantastic. That's great. Well we've got two cases for you this week.

One is personal to me, kind of like you.
