The This is hell.

Live from the United States, where capitalism is the virus, this is hell.

Here on the show, we've been discussing a topic that the establishment media, both corporate and public, has steadfastly refused to discuss.

Academics and scholars, journalists and activists have written countless essays, studies, analyses, and books, even documentaries

have been created on the subject. Yet somehow, in the most popular and profitable media

outlets, there is deafening silence. The issue is treated as if the mere mention of it

violates some FCC regulation that has become the eighth dirty word prohibited from the public's airwaves.

That word is neoliberalism, or the privatization of everything, putting profits before everything else, including people,

and an insistence that all our decisions, choices, and solutions be market-based

concerned with the bottom line exclusively, no matter the cost to humanity. That profits will

somehow set us free when instead and in reality we have become its servants.

That word neoliberalism, intentionally ignored by a free press,

unwilling to have any criticism of one market under God,

despite being the dominant system today, is now,

that's even now losing its relevance.

Why?

Because neoliberalism has evolved into something

unbelievably, much worse. There was a time when many on the left believed that once capitalist

capitalism and that inevitably destroyed itself, consumed itself, the power of the worker would take charge.
