Welcome to the Great Albums podcast. I am Bill, and today we're talking about Nico Case's Blacklisted.

What? What we do here every week on the podcast is take an album of music and talk about what makes it great.

We try to have the conversation around the music that fans do, and then we cap it all off with a track-by-track review, where we talk about the things that we love about the songs and

the things we think about while listening to them. It's very much meant to be just a commentary

on the things we enjoy. Regular listeners of the show will notice that my regular co-host,

Brian, is not chiming in right now, and that is because Brian is taking the week off.

It is his birthday

this week, or it was his birthday when this got recorded. He took some time off when on vacation.

I think that he had a good time, because by the time that I'm recording this, I have actually

spoken to Brian since then, but he seemed to have a nice couple of weeks off, and he'll be back next week

in the episode then. And then actually after that, I'm taking a week off because I'm going on

vacation. So, you know, I hope that you guys enjoy some different things happening within the

podcast. But I won't just be talking to the air by myself. Instead,

friend of the podcast, Jim Laskowski, former guest, a podcaster in his own right and musician,

he'll talk about all that stuff when he joins us. But he's been on before talking about

Liz Fair and also Wilco last year. We just kind of make

sure to get him in here in order to talk about stuff that he loves because he's a pretty good

guy to talk about stuff that he loves. But before Jim joins me for that conversation, so that

everybody's on the same page. We have names,

dates, and places when they come up. You guys know what I'm talking about. I'm going to give

a little bit of a background on Nico Case. Nico Case was born September 8th, 1970, and yes,

Nico Case is her actual name. She was born in Alexandria, Virginia, but then she ended up moving around a lot.
