The Ghost! of the Great War. The ghost today, well, it's called the Angel of Mons.

It may be one of the most famous events in the book.

Some of the stories or phenomena that I recount within the pages, maybe a bit obscure and maybe not many people will have heard them before, but the Angel of Mons has been around us, well, since it happened, which is to say right at the beginning of the First World War.

I'll start with a couple of quotes that relate to, I suppose, give a sense of the

way in which the phenomenon is received, has been received, has been explained. The first is from

the Society for Psychical Research, for there is such a body.

Quote, in the main, the result of our inquiry is negative, at least regards the question

of whether any apparitions were seen on the battlefield, either at Mons or elsewhere.

Of first-hand testimony we have received none at all, and of testimony at second-hand

we have none that would justify us in assuming the occurrence of any supernormal phenomenon.

Another quote from Brigadier General John Charteris at GHQ.
